Did you know that from 1 January 2027, all Queensland homes must have compliant interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed? When one alarm activates, they all activate, giving your family valuable extra time to escape in an emergency.

To be compliant, your home must have smoke alarms:
✅ In every bedroom
✅ In hallways connecting bedrooms
✅ On every level of the home
✅ Interconnected so they all sound together
✅ Compliant with Australian Standard AS3786-2014

Many Queensland homes will require upgrades before the deadline, and as we get closer to 2027, demand for installations is expected to increase.

🔌 Another customer’s vision coming to life!

We recently installed three new power points in this garage, which is being transformed into the ultimate model-building space for our customer and his mates to enjoy their shared hobby.

✔️ One GPO under the workstation
✔️ One GPO for a wall-mounted TV
✔️ One GPO for a bar fridge

One thing we’re particularly happy with is how clean, neat and level the finished result looks.

This project is already looking smart, and there’s still more to come. Once the LED strip lighting is installed and the TV is mounted, this space will really come together. The customer will have the perfect setup to work on projects, catch up with friends, and keep the refreshments on ice while they do it!

Thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves. We’re Ronny and Jess, the owners of Southampton Electrical, and Seb is our keen apprentice and an important part of our little team.

⚡ Ronny loves good food, golf, soccer and darts, and spends his off time playing dress-ups and riding bikes with his daughter.

⚡ Jess enjoys good food, rollerblading, sailing and a good margarita 🍹 Bike rides and Libary dates with her daughter.

⚡ Seb spends his time playing soccer and is very good at it! Which is great van talk for the two of them! ⚽ He’s a keen and driven apprentice and will make a brilliant electrician. We make a really solid team.
